Mitch Oliver
In his second year as Head Coach at Albertus Magnus college, Mitch Oliver is on the verge of turning around this divison three program. He has recruited several in state student athletes.
A veteran of a more than a decade of collegiate coaching, Mitch Oliver spent seven years at Quinnipiac as Joe DeSantis' assistant. In addition to his teaching and scouting responsibilities, Oliver acted as the program’s recruiting coordinator.
Oliver, like DeSantis, has established himself as the face of Quinnipiac basketball over those seven seasons. He helped to bring in such athletes as Rob Monroe, Kason Mims and Rashaun Banjo. As Quinnipiac’s top recruiter, he developed a reputation for bringing in the very best talent in the area.
Oliver came to Quinnipiac after serving three seasons as an assistant coach at fellow Northeast Conference member Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, Conn. At Sacred Heart, Oliver aided in the Pioneers’ transition from Division II to I.
A 1997 graduate of Southern Connecticut State University, Oliver earned a bachelor of science degree in sociology. While in college, Oliver coached at the high school level, serving as an assistant at Foran (1994–95) and Bunnell (1995–97) high schools. Oliver helped guide Bunnell to the Class “L” state quarterfinals two times, including a school-record 20 wins in 1995–96.
